PRP therapy for hair loss is a treatment that involves withdrawing a patient’s own blood, processing it so that only the enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain, and injecting it into scalp. PRP contains essential proteins that stimulate natural hair growth. This procedure is great for both men and women!
The photos below depicts Dr. Karlee Heffner’s own hair loss journey. Fighting against genetics and post pregnancy hair loss, she attended a conference on PRP for hair restoration. After 6 months from her initial treatment, she was already getting her beautiful hair back. She had restored confidence and the hope to help others with this condition.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. As part of the body’s healing ability, platelets and other components in human blood migrate to the point of care. Platelets are well known to release numerous growth factors that respond to tissue injury and initiate and promote the conditions for healing. This is used for many conditions, including hair loss.
The expected results vary from patient to patient. When patients are good candidates and follow the therapy procedure as instructed, men AND women can often expect increased density and new hair growth.
Blood will be drawn from your arm to collect and spin down into platelet rich plasma. The scalp area is numbed in the affected area. The PRP is then injected and/or a microneedling device is used to place the PRP into the thinning areas of the scalp. Recovery is virtually non-existent as it is a non-surgical procedure, with usually, only slight tenderness for a day or two in the areas treated.
Our protocol is 1-2 PRP treatments a year, with hair boosting injections recommended in between, for successful results. Protocol may vary based on the patient. We offer complimentary consults to discuss if you may be a candidate for this treatment.
