BBL BroadBand Light technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent phototherapy results. We are able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas coagulates tissue to variable depth. This process helps restore the skin to its natural state. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.

Great for treating sun damage, acne, freckles, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, vascular lesions such as veins and cherry angiomas on all areas of the face and body. Recommended treatments depending on skin condition will vary but, generally, it requires a series of 3-5 treatments approximately 4 weeks apart. Avoidance of significant sun exposure, tanning beds, and spray tans must be adhered 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.

Depending on the area treated, patients will leave our office looking like they have a moderate sunburn to the area treated. Redness will generally be gone within 24 hours after treatment so this is considered a no downtime type procedure. Brown, pigmented lesions may appear to have a darker, coffee ground like appearance for 3-7 days and gently flake off post treatment, leaving more even toned skin.
